THE PRESENT — GRIT
Hello ladies,
We are mid-way through Jan in a flash, how have you been? If 2021 was tough, I sincerely wish 2022 will be kinder to you.
I’m starting the year with the brand’s first signature design. It took more than 2 years to produce this ring because of the pandemic.
I’m sure the past 2 years have been challenging for most of us with the pandemic raging like an unwelcome overstayer.
But in that same period, I learnt about grit. I learnt that it's often not the shiniest or brightest — but those who keep pushing for their passions despite the struggle — who achieve great feats.
I'm going to see things through, with this ring as my reminder. I hope it lends you strength worthy of its name, as it does for me.
With ♥️,
Ju

The story behind the GRIT Ring
It started with a concept sketch at a cafe one afternoon. I love the square halo design, but I am annoyed by how the current market designs for ring setting is always so low that I cannot stack my gem ring with other rings. Determined to resolve this issue, I went for a high ring setting design.
The ring profile has to be unique as I have decided that it should be (no boring ring profile, please. Must be beautiful from a 360 view, ohkayyy). So… BAMMM! A J initial adorned with a white topaz for the side profile.
The technical sketch came thereafter, did the gem selection and sent the ring for production. But the process was fraught with difficulties because of COVID lockdowns, craftsmen getting sick from the virus, and also back and forth recasting of the mould as I am anal-retentive about the ring dimensions after seeing the actual ring sample.
2 years passed in a flash and this is by far, the most “difficult” ring to produce because of the amount of crafting, the pandemic circumstances and of course me being extremely fussy about the ring’s quality.
I could have given up. But the question that comes after that is, “Why should I?” Classic and good things are worth the trouble.
So here you go, the GRIT Ring after 2 years.
