WORKING WITH JADE

I’m more than usually particular when it comes to working with Jade for two reasons:
1. Authenticity, and;
2. Quality.

There’s a lot of inauthentic jade in the market. There is no easy way for a layman to tell if the jade is authentic or not. On top of that, many assume that having a Grade A for jade is indicator of its good quality. While a good piece of jade usually holds the grading of A (meaning that it’s untreated), but the colour, transparency and  texture of it are equally important when determining the quality.

I didn’t have an easy time sourcing for good quality jade. I always made sure that I buy jade in person, so that the authenticity and quality is ensured.

The Burmese jade that you see here (and also the ones I used in my pieces) is of a premium grade A. It has a beautiful light green hue with a smooth texture, and is actually semitransparent in reality. Though they were very costly, but I really didn’t want any of you to get something that is of inferior quality with a huge price tag.

With love,
Ju
